This is what you get when each of the 3 colors (RGB) is subject to random walk. At each step from left to right the color either increases by an amount +s or decreases by an amount -s -- at random. It is seen that in almost all cases two adjacent stripes are visually distinguishable in color. The starting color is at the left -- a "50% gray". One sees that depending on random chance one gets a great variety of color sequences.

I some ways these patterns look like "synthetic rainbows". An attractive feature of the rainbow it its smooth variation from one color to the next. These patterns also have a smooth variation, but the sequence changes drastically depending on the sequence of random events.

Prints are available on a custom basis. Also mugs. See main page.
